Its <strong>SSIP 2.0 (Student Startup &amp; Innovation Policy)<\/strong> provides a massive \u20b9500 crore fund specifically for university-level innovators. To be a global leader, India needs more IP (Intellectual Property) owners. <strong>National Deep Tech Startup Policy<\/strong> could be a solution that accepts 7\u201310 year gestation periods for chips, biotech, and space-tech. Create &#8220;Lab-to-Market&#8221; pipelines.<\/p><p><span style=\"color: #993366\"><strong>Strengthening &#8220;Public Procurement&#8221; (Govt as Buyer)<\/strong><\/span><\/p><p>Government is the largest customer. As the<strong> \u201cFirst Buyer&#8221;, <\/strong>government should <strong>compulsorily<\/strong> procure from startups in defense, healthcare, and green energy. \u00a0Other sectors should also be earmarked for quota.\u00a0 Though under <strong>General Financial Rules (GFR) Rule 170 and 173<\/strong>, all Central Ministries and Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) are mandated to relax the following criteria for DPIIT-recognized startups, this needs to be tracked.<\/p><p><strong>Bridging the Infrastructure Gap &#8211; <\/strong>Build <strong>Sector-Specific Regional Clusters<\/strong> rather than generic incubators<\/p><p><span style=\"color: #993366\"><strong>Regulatory &#8220;Safe Harbors&#8221; &amp; Exit Ease<\/strong><\/span><\/p><p>Founder friction is often highest during &#8220;Exit&#8221; or &#8220;Failure.&#8221;\u00a0 Streamline the <strong>Fast-Track Exit<\/strong> process under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC) so founders can &#8220;fail fast&#8221; and start again without 3\u20135 years of legal baggage.<\/p>\t\t\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>#Startup #Ecosystem in #India, and the way forward \u2013 While #India positions as the world&#8217;s third-largest ecosystem, has registered less than a half of that of #USA.
